SPRING/SUMMER 2010
By Dorly JL
It’s hip to be recession chic!
So Ladies, choose the style that defines you -
either college, masculine, or glamour
and let the clothes speak about you!
Go ahead harmonize opposites;
revamp vintage; mix periods together;
recycle and give your clothes new meaning.
Re-or-De-construct!
Carve your elegance from either end
of this spectrum: menswear-inspired or
retro glamour from the 40's.
Think in terms of Old Hollywood
Katherine Hepburn Glam: soft pants,
vests, cinched waists,
high waistlines and pencil skirts.
The Colors that are in this Fall
are the bold jewel tones
including tons of grey and black.
Some of the wonderful rich colors
you must add to your wardrobe this season:
purple, sapphire blue, red,
maroon, deep golds, rusts,
chocolate brown and eggplant.
Dresses are again very fashionable.
Hemlines are up and down
but the lines are easy on the figure
and styled to enhance the curves.
Most dresses will be cut to fall
just above the knees.
This is a flattering length on most women,
and a comfortable length for most occasions.
The shirt and trapeze dresses will be
one of the preferred styles – perfect for fun or business.
